Inheritance post card

One of my latest commentaries depicts a humorous and thought-provoking dialogue between a father and his young son. The boy, with a curious and innocent expression, is being told by his father: “No, son. You can’t become a doctor. AI will take it.” The father then continues: “Instead, you will shepherd my fleet of robo taxis.”

This exchange plays on the anxiety surrounding the future of automation and artificial intelligence, suggesting a world where traditional roles like doctors are replaced by AI, and new roles, like managing autonomous vehicles, become the norm. The child’s confused or disappointed look humorously reflects the shifting aspirations in a tech-dominated future, where job roles are redefined by technological advancements.

The artwork cleverly mixes humor with social commentary, poking fun at the rapid changes in technology and the uncertain future of jobs and professions. The minimalist black-and-white style gives it a timeless, editorial cartoon feel, further emphasizing the satirical message.
