Apartments & Inflation are a major topic. People are getting squeezed out by high rents and increasingly devalued dollars. The caduceus staff is an ancient “symbol of commerce” carried by Hermes in Ancient Greek & Egyptian mythology. The staff is intertwined with two serpents, but in this modern day case the design depicts New York City rats. The wings originally represented Hermes ability to fly between the heavens and earth. “Rats with wings” is New York speak for pigeons, but this sketch also represents the rats’ ability to fly between trash cans.

The burning money pile on top represents Inflation, and the fire escapes on the apartment building represent the need to escape to simpler times. This design pokes fun at a pretty serious issue, but the remedy will always be comedy. Laughing through trying times is helpful in overcoming them.

Patch Details:

- If the patch is on the front, it'll be placed in the center of the upper chest with a branded PJ O'Rourke signature patch on the left cuff. 

- If the patch is on the back, it'll be placed in the center of the upper back between the shoulders. On the front of the crewneck, a small Apartments & Inflation patch is placed on the left breast and a branded PJ O'Rourke signature patch is placed on the left cuff.
