This one’s whimsical with a dark twist. My reimagining of Hansel & Gretel collides with the Covid-19 origin story—except instead of candy, the witch lures kids with diseased bats. “Wuhansel” flips Wuhan, China into a satirical pun, putting the infamous wet market theory at center stage. As legend would have it, the children would change the world when infecting their village upon arrival. Subtle at first glance, striking once you catch the reference.
