New York City Arteries Crop Hoody
New York City Arteries Crop Hoody
New York City Arteries was born underground on the Union Square L train platform, inspired by the subway map that once stretched across the wall like a living system. What started as daily observation became survival; those lines carried PJ through years of selling prints, sketching between trains, & building independence the only way New York teaches it.
The design reimagines the NYC subway system as a human heart. Trains become blood flow. Boroughs become chambers. Movement becomes life. It’s a visual reminder that this city doesn’t just move people; it keeps them alive.
On the cropped hoody, that energy shifts from underground to open air. The shorter silhouette feels light, confident, & intentional; balanced against the depth of the embroidery on the back. At 8 oz., the fabric has enough weight to hold its shape, yet stays breathable for changing weather & long walks without commitment to a jacket.
Worn in the spring at Coney Island, it makes perfect sense. Ocean air rolling in. Boardwalk planks underfoot. The noise of rides, the pause between seasons, the city finally exhaling after winter. The hoody keeps you warm without feeling closed in; easy to throw on, easy to live in, easy to trust.
A piece about motion, survival, & the quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly where you came from; while still moving forward.
