Layer Cake Of New York Heavyweight Cement Gray Tee

This heavyweight 7.5 oz garment-dyed cotton tee serves up a slice of the city like you’ve never seen it before.

The Layer Cake of New York is a more recent drop (December 2024) and is inspired by PJ’s girlfriend Jillian recommending a “Layer Cake” when prompted to think about showcasing my time in the subway, he wanted to showcase the layers in a metaphorical sense. Rising up the layers to having a storefront right across from Union Square Park. 

The layers, starting at the bottom, include the giant squid in the East River, a presence to PJ’s design “20,000 Leagues Under NYC.” The next layer, of course, includes the MTA subway system, where you’ll see PJ selling his artwork on his mobile laundry cart contraption; to the left of the train. Vigilant of the snakes, PJ carefully navigated how to interact with people in accordance to his safety & well being while selling his artwork, & sketching new ideas simultaneously. Next layers up include a pizza layer, a red carpet with couches for nefarious parties by elite corrupt societies, a railroad system that could also represent a vanilla creme layer, and a sewer system that doubles as chocolate in the cake. On top of the icing includes a knish, halal, pretzel, & hot dog. As we get to the surface of the city, we see Perry the Pigeon perked up on a building, the Chrysler Building (PJ’s favorite NYC building), the Empire State Building, and the epic story of the Woolworth building to the right (& South.) Cleverly, the missing slice is on the chest of the shirt, with Perry the Pigeon staking his territory. Notable mentions: a body laying flat on the plate- representing a casualty from cutting the slice. The alligators, rats, & a ninja turtle represent a mysterious & mythical underground New York City.
