We went upstate during this stretch while I was fervently working on the Layer Cake of New York, pretty much around the clock. It became an all-consuming focus. Jillian really encouraged me to keep pushing toward finishing the Cake, reminding me why the piece mattered whenever exhaustion or doubt crept in. This particular period wasn’t easy; long hours, creative pressure, & the weight of wanting to get every detail right made it intense. Finishing the Cake felt like an important milestone, not just another artwork but something symbolic for the brand & my personal journey. I spent nearly every waking hour locked into it, determined to bring it across the finish line.
