This month I had “Success Breeds Envy” out heavy, one of my favorite all-time designs. It had been in my world for 5 years & still moving (to this day) Still resonating. Still getting reactions in the wild like it never aged a day.
hustling with Haroon! At Wyckoff Deli late nights.
I was set up in the Sixth Ave corridor a lot this month. That corridor felt like its own ecosystem: constant movement, nonstop energy, people transferring with tunnel vision, then suddenly snapping out of it when something catches their eye. That’s what I always loved about selling underground. The city is rushing, but art can still stop time for a second.
One of the real highlights was what happened with Extra Ketchup. I accidentally left my portfolios on the train (nightmare situation). But he noticed, grabbed them, messaged me, then held them down until I came all the way out to Broadway Junction to get them.
That kind of move is rare. True Good Samaritan energy.
I was humbled; I thanked him heavy, then of course I hooked him up with a couple posters & a hat. Good dude. Moments like that remind you New York is chaotic, but it’s also full of solid people who look out.
My Tyson vs. van Gogh idea was in its infancy, but would be complete soon after a rigorous effort.
