November 2019

Around this time, New York Fuckery found its way into an empty subway ad space, I believe on the L train. One of those perfect accidental gallery moments where the city itself becomes the frame. Meanwhile, back at the 11th Street shoppe, things were really humming. I was heat-pressing clothes constantly, building inventory by hand, & even hosting comedy shows in the space. It had that rare energy where art, hustle, & community all overlap.
I miss being in Scrapyard with James over on West Broadway, a legendary graffiti spot with real history baked into the walls. Inspiration everywhere. At the same time, I was sketching directly onto sneakers for clients, pushing the wearable art side further. Hans got a custom pair that came out beautifully.

That Double Jointed pink blanket era was special too. Those blankets became instant classics & marked a fun, experimental chapter for the brand. Definitely something I’ll revisit one day because the response was strong.

Friends & supporters kept the momentum alive. Anthony Rodriguez stopped by, Gus pulled through, & one of the comedy shows turned into a fun night. I took Clare to this comedy show. Huge shout out to Ian Gilb, Amamah, Kirsten, Ricardo, & Jeff Wiles for being part of that wave.

& I can’t forget the Frida Kali heat-pressed hoodie. That piece came out incredible & still stands as one of my favorites from that stretch. Overall, just a really vibrant period. The shoppe was alive, the trains were still part of the story, creativity was flowing, & the community around the brand kept getting stronger.
