This month, I would meet Jillian on a first date to Little Island. I didn’t think she liked me for a while on the date. She left me on the hill to speak with workers about hiring high school kids for the Summer Youth Employment Program, she worked for Henry Street Settlement at the time. I thought she left me on the hill, but she came back. I was slightly perturbed, but it was so endearing that she was doing community work, particularly for the youth. That was a great quality to find in someone; community oriented, wanting to help. My hands were sweaty, but she didn’t seem to mind, come to find out hers were sweating, too. & we both sweated more out of our right sides. Interesting & strange. But kinda cool. We just started kissing at some point. Then the feelings became intense, & soon as you knew it we were love birds! She filmed me putting up this Brooklyn Cassettes sticker, it hasn’t moved since. 

I met Louis Gomez my first couple of months living here when I was an extra on “How to Make it in America” & then Jillian took me to a Henry Street event, & I got to see buddy again!
