July 2023

SoHo was taking its final bow for me that month, the last stretch before shifting the base of operations up to 18th St & Broadway. It felt like a moving subway train I was still painting inside of, packing up one chapter while already sketching the next. Street hustle stayed fully alive too, that classic “catch us if you can” energy where every corner, passerby, and quick conversation could turn into a sale, a connection, or a new idea.

The Tyson vs. van Gogh piece was flying. People loved that clash of worlds, heavyweight boxing attitude colliding with fine-art mythology. Meanwhile I was deep in color experiments, tie dyes, bold blends, letting fabrics become little portable sunsets and city lights. Definitely a playful phase creatively, lots of testing, lots of happy accidents.

Jillian & I carved out a quick Coney Island escape in the middle of it all. Salt air, boardwalk buzz, that slightly chaotic summer magic New York does so well. A reminder that even while grinding nonstop, you still gotta ride the Cyclone once in a while and let life be loud, colorful, and a little ridiculous. 🎢🌊
