April 2017

The subway wasn’t just where I sold art, it was where the story started repeating itself like a feedback loop: train conductors buying New York City Arteries prints & clothes (at a discount, of course), turning the people who run the underground into part of the underground legend. That kind of love hits different.
This month carried a “first” that I’ll never forget: I sold my first ever Selfies @ Tiffany’s stencil to a wonderful German couple on the L train platform. That moment felt like a stamp on the passport, like the work wasn’t just living in New York anymore… it was traveling.
April was also personal. I created a Susan Sarandon of Guadalupe as a custom favor for the great Yakov, the kind of supporter who doesn’t just buy the art, but adds fuel to the mission. Then the energy followed me above ground too, selling work at a party my good friend Tyler threw, pure good times, pure community.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn Cassettes was leaving fingerprints all over the city. Stickers going up everywhere. Like the art was multiplying on its own.
And of course… New York did what New York does. I caught a wild moment: a guy fully face down on the floor. Just chaos in its natural habitat. A reminder that the subway gives you everything… the beauty, the grit, the comedy, the madness… all in the same frame.
April 2017 was proof of momentum. Friends like Adam coming through for hoodies. Matthew showing love like always. Strangers turning into patrons. Patrons turning into regulars. The hustle wasn’t just working, it was becoming real.
This month wasn’t a highlight reel.
It was the foundation getting poured.
